27.08.2012 - J uan del Llano saw the foot and slowed but kept approaching. They were just getting started. Both of them still had all their clothes on, and the girl’s make-up wasn’t smudged. “Hi,” said Juan, averting his eyes as best he could while not breaking stride. “Hi,” they both replied together. My wife and I are planning a trip to Nicaragua in December and although we've travelled a lot throughout other Central American countries, this will be our first trip to the San Juandel Sur area. Any info on safety? We've heard of various attacks as of late. Thanks!
Hey guys, I have the most common travel question. Is San JuanDel Sur a good time to visit in September? I'm turning 25 and would love to go here but I've seen several postings about the "wet" season. Does this make or break the trip? I've been to Costa Rica during the Wet season and it rained for maybe an hour then stopped. Any advice will help. Thanks!
hey can anyone recommend a hostel in Tegucigalpa or a reasonable hotel that is safe and from 20 to 40 US? also has anyone gone surfing in San JuanDel Sur Nicaragua and can anyone recommend a reliable shuttle or busline that will go there and maybe even recommend a hostel or reasonably priced in San JuanDel Sur Nicaragua surf spot. and do they rent surfboards there? thanks in advance.
we are seeking additional passengers to travel with us by boat, from san juandel norte to bluefields around the 25-26th of august. apparently it costs anywhere from700-1000dollars and they require 10 passengers to depart. we are only 5 and would be best for all to split costs and ensure departure. as i dont have much access, please email me at christina.papasATgmail.com thank you xc
Hey guys im traveling to san juandel sur soon and was wondering if they sell there surfboards in or around the area and also if its a good idea to hire a car overthere. we are also keen to see other parts of central america any recomendations would be much apreciated. cheers
Family of four will be dropping off a car in San Juandel Sur and traveling to Costa Rica on July 24, 2012 and picking up a rental car in Penas Blancas. Does anyone have a recommendation for a driver? I have heard it helps to have someone experienced with you to cross the border. Thanks!
Hi, One problem that I see right away is why would you want to base in Managua ? I think anyone one here would tell you to get out of town and stay in Granada or something. San JuanDel Sur is ok to spend a night but the nicer beaches are a short day trip either north or south of town. That means more time and at least an overnight to do it right.
No, not hard. Buses are easy to find in San Juan to la frontera, then after you cross the border, take a bus to Liberia and transfer to another one straight to Nicoya. Here is the whole country's bus schedule and lots of other helpful information; liberiacostaricainfo.com/BusScheduleCostaRic…
