John Shane McCarthy (19 November 1989 – 9 September 2012) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club and the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
John Anthony McCarthy QC, KCSG (born 20 October 1947 in Parkes, New South Wales), is the current Australian Ambassador to the Holy See. Prior to his ambassadorial appointment, he was a Queens Counsel at the NSW Bar and a barrister in Sydney.
