Gustav Koerner became connected editorially with the paper in 1849; Hauck bought Englemann 's interest in 1852; Franz Grimm first became editor in 1853; after four months he was succeeded by August Kattmann. Grimm went to Memphis and in established Stimme des Volkes, the first German paper in Tennessee.
