Why is there no one has come to this? Is quite simple. My ancestors are from the district of Steinburg, Schleswig Holstein. They had several, wiping, meadows with cows and cowherd were called. In the long gefiehl Ihnenen the name is no longer right. To make the name sound too grand, they simply left out the H and I in the middle. Minimal effort, great effect.
