AO (born 7 May 1943) is an Australian novelist, known primarily for being one of only four writers to have won the Booker Prize twice—the others being J. M. Coetzee, J. G. Farrell and Hilary Mantel. Carey won his first Booker Prize in for Oscar and Lucinda, and won for the second time in with True History of the Kelly Gang. In May he was nominated for the Best of the Booker Prize.
Peter (P.B.R.) Carey (born 1948) is a British historian and author who studies East Timor, Java and Burma. He was the Laithwaite fellow of Modern History at Trinity College, Oxford. His major early work has concentrated on the history of Diponegoro, the British in Java and the Java War. He is currently completing an Oral History of the Indonesian Occupation of East Timor, and a biography of Prince Dipanagara.
is a former Australian rules football player who played his entire league career for the Glenelg Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). He holds the league record for most games played, with 448 appearances.
