Yazici is the Turkish word for printers. Historically it means but rather writers. At times of high illiteracy rates, there were the so-called "Yazici" or "Khatib (Arabic). These were those one sought to write letters or have them read. The result was that got in the foundation of today's Turkish Republic, the people who knew by then no last name last name and so called these writers simply "Yazici"
